Saving Awards Bestowed
to Pontiac Officers
Pontiac Police
Officer Tim Morton, a 10-year veteran, was only supposed to be assisting
another officer when he arrived December 28th at the scene where
a woman was slumped over her car's steering wheel. But he quickly
assessed the situation and came to the conclusion that the victim
was suffering from a diabetic coma. He found some oranges in the
car, quickly peeled them and placed them underneath her upper lip
against her gumline. In addition to policing, Officer Morton, who
holds a doctorate degree, teaches Cultural Diversity at Wayne State
University.
Officer Clancy,
a four-year veteran, and her partner Officer Dave Stone responded
to a Pontiac home where a hysterical mother had called 911 screaming
for "her baby". Infant Fernando Garcia was being clutched
by his mother, without breathing and a pulse. Officer Clancy quickly
began rescue breathing and revived the baby after a few quick breaths.
By the time the baby arrived by ambulance at the Oakland Medical
Center, he was sitting up and crying.
Congratulations
are in order for these fine officers!
